Journalists, activists, students and volunteers from GOLOS met on September 30th in the Human Rights House in Voronezh to talk about free speech and free elections.

Among those present were Alexander Yagodkin, former editor of Novaya Gazeta in the “Chernozem’ye”, Vyacheslav Bityutsky, chairman of the “Memorial of Voronezh.”
Yagodin spoke on the modern history of journalism in Voronezh, including issues such as crackdowns, censorship, the Governor’s media machine, and the decline of professionalism in journalism.
